Thorbjorn Olesen stopped using his given first name in school because there were other classmates also named Jacob.
Hideki Matsuyama produced the lowest round of the tournament so far at the US PGA Championship to charge into the joint lead at Quail Hollow.
"The golf course could have been had", U.S. Open champion Brooks Koepka said after a 73 left him seven shots back.
Numerous top-ranked players in the world are lurking close behind.
Ahead of today's round, McIlroy insisted that Quail Hollow - where he has twice set a course record in the past 10 years - "gives you chances" to turn your luck around. "There's about four or five holes that I have to birdie to compete and I birdied them all", Kisner said.
The second-round effort by the Farmington resident who grew up playing Oakridge Country Club vaulted him into a tie with Lehi's Tony Finau for 23rd place at 1-over par heading into Saturday's third round. "I can't count them all", said the guy who shot 64. It has also been fortified with thick rough on the outskirts of fairways.
"The greens here are really fast and there are a lot of putts that honestly, I'm not trying to make", he said. "So I've played a lot more". The greens are so firm, you can't control your spin.
"It's not like I'm hitting the ball crooked, I'm just hitting it in the wrong spots". I feel like I've been putting well the whole round.
"The golf course is an absolute brute this week".
"I don't think I missed any short putts today".

"It wasn't very easy". Casey hasn't won a major but has placed in the top 11 in three of the last four majors.
Matsuyama, 25, is a five-time victor on the PGA Tour, while he finished tied for second at the U.S. Open this year. "I feel like I'll still be right in this tournament", said McIlroy, a two-time PGA Championship victor. But it was the follow-up, especially his poor chipping, that really got him in trouble. "Kind of going through and keeping an eye on stats and making sure that everything is continuing to get better or kind of figuring out what needs to be tightened up". It's the sixth consecutive year that the PGA Championship has been halted due to a suspension of play because of inclement weather, a key factor in the PGA's decision earlier this week to move the tournament to May in 2019.
Olesen has two top-10 finishes at majors, with the most recent of those coming at the 2013 Masters.
"He's working hard. And I feel like he's the hardest worker out here right now, just because he wants to win". Definitely a big improvement from where I was past year in the majors.
